Ballechin 19 Years Old is a heavily peated single malt from the Edradour distillery, matured entirely in Madeira. It was distilled in April 2004 and spent 19 years in two Madeira puncheons. It was bottled on 5 July 2023 as a small batch of 1,323 bottles at cask strength of 53.5%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The Madeira gives the smoke a fruity, sweet counterpart, with redcurrant, plum, sultana and brown sugar, and pepper and clove for spice. Dried fruit and spicy clove meet dense smoke on the nose. On the palate, strong peat smoke carries the sweetness of figs and marzipan, with mild oak for structure. The finish is long, with smoke and fruit lingering.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
