This Ballechin is a single cask, heavily peated Highland single malt from the Edradour distillery, made from malt with a peat level of at least 50 ppm. It marks the birthday of Andrew Symington Jr: it was distilled on 25 July 2004, the day of his birth, and bottled on 25 July 2024 after 20 years in a single first fill port pipe. Strength is 54.7%, in a 70cl bottle.
Deep ruby and amber in colour, it shows black cherries, ripe figs, dried dates and complex spices, joined with mature smoke and peat. The finish carries a hint of fresh cigars, dark chocolate and old wood.
