First-fill bourbon barrel
This is a heavily peated single malt from Ballechin, the peated style made at Edradour in the Highlands. It was distilled in February and March 2004, matured for twenty years in first-fill barrels that previously held Old Grand Dad bourbon, and bottled on 4 March 2024 at 52.8% ABV. It is a small batch of 2,016 bottles, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring. The nose offers sea air and seaweed with vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, herbs and soft oak smoke. On the palate, strong peat meets vanilla caramel, chocolate, herbs and white pepper, with an oily texture. The finish is long, with sweet spice and oak, warming peat, white pepper and creamy vanilla.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
