Second fill sherry hogshead
A 15 year old Highland single malt from Ballechin, distilled in 2005 at Edradour and bottled by Whisky Sponge at a natural cask strength of 57.3%, in a 70cl bottle. It matured for its full term in a second fill sherry hogshead, and 266 bottles were produced. It is part three of the Spongetopia Trilogy, titled The Secondary Darkness, a series styled as old school pulp sci-fi novels with a first paragraph on each rear label. It is described as pure sherry and peat: dark, thick and leathery, with industrial smoke, bitter chocolate, tobacco, smoked chilli and oily, syrupy peat.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
