Ballyhoo Irish Whiskey (70cl, 43%)

Ballyhoo is an Irish whiskey from The Connacht Whiskey Company, in a 70cl bottle at 43% abv. Its colour is a reddish gold. The nose is very fruity, with ripe apricot, raisins and banana chips, then a light nuttiness, dried rose petals, dried lemon balm, soft vanilla and a touch of oak in the background. The palate opens with milk chocolate and hazelnuts, raisins and dates, and pear skin. It is slightly earthy and herbal, with oregano and lemongrass, and the rose petals return. The finish is nutty, building and staying slightly oily.
