Balvenie – 12 Year Old Double Wood The 1931 Collection (47.5%)

Balvenie 12 Year Old Double Wood is a Speyside single malt from The 1931 Collection, a special edition bottled at 47.5%. The collection marks 1931, the year Balvenie began using its own malting floor, and it was developed by malt master Kelsey McKechnie. The whisky is made entirely from home-malted barley, malted by hand on the distillery's own floor. It matures first in traditional American oak casks, then receives a finish in European oak ex-sherry bodega casks that come directly from Jerez. Balvenie was founded in Dufftown in 1892 by William J. Grant.
