Balvenie 12 Years Old Double Wood is a single malt matured in two types of cask. It spends time in traditional oak casks, then moves to sherry casks, which add the richer notes of the sherry. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Golden in colour, it has a smooth texture.
The nose has honey, vanilla, dried fruit and spice. On the palate come caramel, honey-roasted nuts, dried fruits and a touch of spicy oak, followed by a warm, long finish.
