This is a 14 year old single malt from Balvenie, matured in oak and finished in rum casks.
The rum finish gives the whisky a tropical character and is the heart of this expression.
On the nose there is toffee and vanilla, a hint of tropical fruit, and a touch of oak and spice. The palate is smooth and rich, with caramel, coconut and dried fruits, and a gentle sweetness from the rum cask. The finish is warm and lingering, with fruit and a little spice.
