This is a 16 year old Balvenie single malt from Speyside, bottled at 47.6% in a 70cl bottle. It first appeared in early 2022.
The whisky spent its whole 16 years in oak, starting in American oak casks and then moving into ex-Pineau des Charentes casks, which held sweet French wine, for the finish.
Balvenie was built by William Grant in 1892 and is still part of the family company. Its 12 year old DoubleWood, launched in 1993, is credited with pioneering cask finishing.
