A 21 year old single malt from Balvenie in Speyside, finished in port wood and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
Cask finishing is central to the distillery's recent output. Balvenie launched its 12 year old DoubleWood in 1993, an expression credited with pioneering the practice. The distillery was built by William Grant in 1892 and remains part of the family company, and its single malt brand was launched in 1973.
