This is the first release from the Bankhall distillery in Blackpool, England, bottled at 47.6% ABV. Rebellion is a bourbon-style spirit made from corn, rye and malted barley as a single batch sweet mash, triple distilled in copper pot stills in autumn 2020.
It matured for eight months in new American oak barrels, watched over by Master Distiller Vince Oleson.
The nose is fragrant, with caramel, vanilla, oak spices and white pepper, then pineapple, orange peel and maraschino cherry. The palate is creamy and sweet, with honey, butterscotch, white chocolate and marmalade, turning warmer and spicier with oak and cereals. The finish carries juicy cherry and pineapple before oak spices.
