A red wine from Barone Montalto, made from a selection of the region's best grapes, including Nero d'Avola, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged in wood. The nose shows intense aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry, dried plum, vanilla and cocoa from barrique ageing. On the palate it is rich and enveloping, with soft, elegant tannins and a robust but balanced structure. The finish is long, with black fruit and spice notes. It suits red meat, game and aged cheeses, served at about 18-20 C.
