Basil Hayden's – Dark Rye (75cl)

Basil Hayden's Dark Rye is a blended rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle. It combines Kentucky rye, which provides spice, oak, dried fruit and subtle molasses, with Canadian rye from the Alberta distillery. A touch of California Port adds a final layer of ripe fruit. The colour is a deep, rich amber with ruby undertones. The nose has oak balanced with dark berries and molasses. On the palate it is a complex blend of caramel, dried fruit and oak, with spice in the background and a rounded mouthfeel. The finish is lingering, with dried fruit, a hint of sweetness and rye spice.
