Basil Hayden's is a Kentucky straight bourbon. The brand was introduced in 1992 and named in honour of Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., a distiller who used more rye in his mash than some other bourbons of the time.
It was one of four bourbons in Beam's small batch collection. The company says its mash is similar to the one Hayden originally used in 1792.
