Basil Hayden's Red Wine Cask Finish is a limited-edition Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle. The high-rye bourbon is aged in new charred American oak, and a portion is then blended with bourbon finished in Californian red wine casks.
This adds dark fruit, sweet cherry and a velvety texture to the spicy, approachable Basil Hayden style.
The nose has dried dark fruits, sweet cherry, vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, caramel and vanilla sit with dark cherry, ripe plum, strawberry and toasted almonds. The finish is warm and slightly dry, with dark fruit, mild rye spice and gentle oak tannins.
