Bearface Triple Oak is a Canadian whisky bottled at 42.5% in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to its three oak types rather than to age.
It begins as a Canadian corn whisky aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then spends time in French oak casks that once held red wine. It is finished in Hungarian oak.
The nose has vanilla fudge, red apple skin, smoked cinnamon, pine resin and a little woodsmoke. On the palate are butterscotch, clove and dark cherry, then black pepper and toasted oak, with black tea and roasted walnut. The finish is medium to long, with caramel, baking spice and oak embers.
