A Kentucky straight bourbon finished in casks that previously held honey, from Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee. It belongs to Belle Meade's Craftsman Cask Collection, a series of bourbons finished in unusual secondary casks.
The honey casks leave floral sweetness and a light beeswax note, with no flavouring added to the bourbon.
The nose is honey, wildflowers, vanilla and warm caramel. The palate is smooth and rich, with honey woven through caramel and grain. The finish is long and warming, honey and vanilla fading into gentle oak spice.
