Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bottled in Bond Bourbon (70cl, 50%)

A Missouri straight bourbon from the Holladay Distillery in Weston, bottled in bond at 100 proof (50%) in a 70cl bottle. The mash bill is 73% corn, 15% soft red wheat and 12% malted barley, with wheat taking the place of the usual rye. It was aged for a minimum of six years in Missouri white oak barrels. The nose offers peach, apricot, vanilla and buttery oak with gentle cinnamon. The palate has creamy toffee, roasted nuts, caramel and dried fruit with toasted oak. The finish is warming, with baking spice, soft pepper and mellow sweetness.
