This Ben Nevis single malt was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2020 at 10 years old, at 57.1% ABV, for Milroy's. It matured first in a refill hogshead and was then moved to a first-fill French oak Oloroso sherry hogshead, cask 1728, which gave 278 bottles. On the nose are dried figs and crystallised ginger, balanced by Scottish tablet, European oak spice and dunnage warehouse funk. The palate is full bodied, with wildflower honey and toffee apples, then savoury notes of porcini mushroom and Parma ham that recall the farmyard style of older Ben Nevis. The finish has brandy snaps and a hint of hessian and rancio.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
