Benriach The Sixteen is a 16 year old Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% ABV with natural cask-imparted colour. It is matured in three types of cask: bourbon, sherry and virgin oak.
The result is a style built on fruit, malt and oak, with stone fruit, creamy malt, wild honey and nutty oak spice. The smoke level is trace.
The nose offers baked apple and creamy hazelnut malt, with ginger-spiced apricot and honey. On the palate come spiced stewed apple, stone fruit and mellow nutty oak, with honeyed malt and candied peel.
