Benrinnes 11 Year Old 'A Tale of Two Banffs' is a single-cask Speyside single malt created by Cask 88 with the Banff Whisky Experience. It celebrates the link between Banffshire in Scotland and the town of Banff in Alberta, Canada.
The whisky spent 9 years in ex-bourbon casks and a further 2 years in Oloroso sherry octave casks. It was bottled at a cask strength of 57%, without chill filtering or added colour, and 230 bottles were filled.
The nose starts with red wine and a spirity punch, then settles into Juicy Fruit gum, citrus zest and vanilla. The palate is dry and tannic with bold fruit and meaty spice. The finish is very long, led by oak spice, with a little tropical sweetness and lasting warmth.
