This is a 12 year old Benrinnes, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024 at 57.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Benrinnes stands at the foot of the mountain of the same name in Speyside, and most of its spirit goes into blends.
The whisky matured in a hogshead and then spent three years in a first fill oloroso cask from the Hidalgo cooperage in Spain. The finish gives a softer side of ex-sherry, with toffee and caramel character rather than Christmas cake and dried fruit. The outturn was 296 bottles.
