This is an 11 year old single malt from Benrinnes, independently bottled by Thompson Bros. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021 at 54.7%, with an outturn of 295 bottles, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky first aged in a refill hogshead, then spent a finishing period in an ex-Islay whisky cask, named as ex-Laphroaig.
The nose offers roasted nuts, perfumed malt with a hint of vanilla blossom, and a slow build of dry oak and hickory. The palate has crunchy brown sugar and oily barley, moving to a subtle salinity of peat and cask char. The finish is a touch of fresh orange.
