Benrinnes – 28 Year Old 1997 The Alba Trail Rocket Bourbon Barrel (48.7%)

A 28-year-old Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, distilled in 1997 and matured in a bourbon barrel. Alba Import released it in 2026 as part of The Alba Trail Rocket series, which is devoted to old single casks. Only 126 bottles were filled. It is bottled at 48.7% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. The flavours described include kiwi, gooseberry and quince, alongside toffee, raspberry sweets and ripe oak, with a note of herbal spice. The bourbon barrel is credited with supporting the fruity, creamy side of the whisky while adding a restrained woody spice.
