This is a 29-year-old Speyside single malt from Benrinnes, distilled in 1994 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes from a single first-fill sherry puncheon and is bottled at 53.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The puncheon gave 556 bottles in all, each drawn from the same cask.
The nose is of orange peel and butterscotch. On the palate come stewed raisins, raspberry jam, toasted hazelnuts and cocoa powder. The finish lingers with spice and citrus.
