Benromach – 12 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Benromach 12 Year Old is a single malt from Forres, in Speyside, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was built in 1898 and revived when the Urquhart family bought it in 1993. It was officially reopened in 1998 after five years of rebuilding. Benromach aims for a classic Speyside character: full and balanced, with a light touch of smoke. To that end the distillery uses Highland peat, brewers' yeast alongside distillers' yeast, very long fermentations and only first fill casks, which mature in a traditional dunnage warehouse.
