Benromach 2009 Vintage Cask Strength Batch 04 is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 57.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2009 and matured for about ten years in first-fill bourbon and sherry casks.
It is bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration, added colour or sugar. The distillery at Forres was founded in 1898 and has been producing whisky again since 1998, after Gordon & MacPhail bought it in 1993.
The nose has a pronounced sherry note, stewed apple, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The palate is notably soft, with creamy chocolate and orange blossom. The finish carries fine smokiness and a pinch of black pepper, long and harmonious.
