Benromach – 2011 Germany Exclusive Batch 2 2022 (70cl, 48%)

This is the second Germany exclusive Benromach, a Speyside single malt distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022 at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It was selected jointly by the Benromach distillery team and Andrea Caminneci and Thomas Plaue, Keepers of the Quaich at Schlumberger. The small batch combines first-fill bourbon and sherry casks and is limited to 1807 bottles. It is peated to 12ppm, non-chill-filtered and free of added colouring. The palate is soft and elegant, with yellow and red fruits, honey and vanilla sugar, gentle oak spice, peach juice, sherry spice and dried blackberries. Vanilla crescent biscuits with light pepper sit alongside a lively, fruity sweetness and sweet smoke.
