Benromach – 2013 Cask Strength Batch 1 (70cl, 59.7%)

Benromach Cask Strength Batch 1 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at 59.7% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release. The whisky was matured in two different types of cask. Benromach stands at Forres, was founded in 1898, and was bought by Gordon & MacPhail in 1993 before distilling resumed in 1998. The nose shows a pronounced sherry character with stewed apple, cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. The palate is notably soft, with creamy chocolate and orange blossom. The finish is long and harmonious, with fine smokiness and a pinch of black pepper.
