Benromach Contrasts: Double Matured is a Speyside single malt from the Benromach distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. As the name indicates, it is a double matured whisky. Benromach was built in 1898, during the whisky boom, and was closed again as soon as it was finished. It changed name often and was shut and reopened several times. Gordon & McPhail bought it in 1993, and it reopened on 15 October 1998 in the presence of Prince Charles, exactly 100 years after it was founded.
