Benromach Peat Smoke is a single malt from the Contrasts series. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled on 3 May 2023 at 46% ABV, after eight years in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The malt is heavily peated, with a phenol level of 57 ppm.
The nose is smoky and medicinal, with vanilla and fruit. On the palate it is intense and dry, with peat, maple syrup, sweet vanilla, honey, young fruit, oak and spice. The smoke lingers in the finish, lifted by fresh citrus.
