Bernheim Barrel Proof Wheat Whiskey is a cask-strength Kentucky wheat whiskey from Heaven Hill's Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, in a 750ml bottle. Strength varies by batch, from 59.2% to 62.6%.
The mashbill is 51% winter wheat, 37% corn and 12% malted barley. It is aged for seven to nine years in new charred oak barrels and bottled non-chill-filtered, without proofing down.
The nose offers vanilla, cereal sweetness, white pepper, cinnamon and oak. The palate has cinnamon, caramel, cherry, dark chocolate and molasses, with oak and pipe smoke building. The finish is long, warm and peppery, with toasted oak and baking spice.
