This is a 44 year old blended Scotch whisky from Berry Bros & Rudd, the 1979 Exceptional Blend from cask number 5. It is bottled at 52.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Berry Bros & Rudd have supplied blended whisky since the 19th century, and this is one of many blends they have put together over the years. The nose combines coconut and warm gorse flowers with melting butter and honeyed toast. The palate is lively and broad, with mango, delicate hemp, wood polish, beeswax and spiced fruit. The finish brings more fruit, with orange and lychee.
