Big Peat Islay Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Big Peat is a blended malt for lovers of Islay whisky, put together by the independent bottler Douglas Laing of Glasgow. This is a 70cl bottle at 46% vol. It marries island malts from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen, with a peat level of 40 ppm. It is bottled without chill-filtration. The nose is peat smoke with sweetness, ash, coffee and a sharp note in the background. The palate is a dense blanket of smoke with nuts, fine sweet notes and bitter traces of ash. The finish is of medium length, dry and smoky.
