Big Peat Small Batch (70cl, 46%)

Big Peat Small Batch is a blended malt made only from Islay single malts, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the Islay expression in the Remarkable Regional Malts series from Douglas Laing. The blend brings together the sweetness of Caol Ila, the balance of Bowmore, the medicinal, earthy side of Ardbeg and the elegance of Port Ellen. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose is fresh, clean and salty, followed by sweet malt dried over peat. On the palate come ash, sweet tar, chimney smoke and a seashore sense of salt. The long finish has salty, savoury liquorice, smoke and bonfire ash with a clearly phenolic edge.
