Batch 8 from Bimber is a single malt released in May 2020 at cask strength, 58.3%, in a 70cl bottle. It comes from one ex-bourbon barrel, undiluted, and 267 bottles were filled.
Bimber is a London distillery, founded in 2015 in Park Royal, which floor-malts its own English barley at Warminster Maltings.
The nose offers orange and lemon citrus with ripe papaya, coconut and a vanilla sweetness of buttercream and maple syrup. On the palate are orchard fruit, apple in particular, citrus peel, popped corn and toasted oats, with peppery, spiced oak. The finish is long, dry and spiced.
