Black Saddle is a 12 year old straight bourbon from Kentucky, bottled by Franc Lin in California at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It won a double gold medal as best small batch bourbon of 2014.
Oak and ripe strawberries lead the nose, with crème brûlée and spicy nougat. On the palate it is lightly vanilla, with caramel, cinnamon and a little pepper. The finish is warm, with peppery almond notes.
