Blackadder Aberlour 2011 Raw Cask is an 11-year-old Speyside single malt, distilled in 2011 and bottled straight from a PX sherry hogshead. It was bottled without filtration or colour correction, so the dark colour and any wood residue come directly from the cask.
The nose offers raisins, dates, figs, dark chocolate and wet oak, with malt, warm spice and a subtle nuttiness beneath. The palate is full-bodied, with concentrated sherry sweetness, espresso, bitter cocoa, candied orange and clove. The finish is long and warming, with dark sugar, wood and a soft bitterness.
