Blade and Bow Kentucky Straight Bourbon is an American whiskey that pays tribute to the Stitzel-Weller Distillery, which is now silent. It is made using a solera ageing system, blending a portion of the remaining vintage stocks from Stitzel-Weller with younger Kentucky straight bourbons, and comes in a 75cl bottle. The name refers to the blade and the bow, the two parts of a skeleton key, like those that once opened the distillery's doors. The nose is typically described as green apple, dried apricot and vanilla bean, with toasted oak and a little cinnamon. The palate offers baked apple, dried stone fruit and honey over light caramel, and the finish is of medium length with spiced fruit and charred oak.
