Blanton's Gold Edition (70cl, 51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a single barrel bourbon bottled at 51.5%, or 103 proof, in a 70cl bottle. Blanton's was introduced in 1984 as the first single barrel bourbon, and this Gold version followed later. The recipe has a higher proportion of rye, which makes the bourbon drier and more spicy, with cinnamon and nutmeg. It shows dark fruit, pecan and oak, along with a touch of sweetness from honey and vanilla.
