Blanton's The Original (70cl, 46.5%)

Blanton's The Original is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 46.5% (93 proof) in a 70cl bottle. The label records the barrel, warehouse and rick each bottle came from. The brand is named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton, a former president of the distillery. Elmer T. Lee created the first single barrel bourbon in 1984, recalling how the Colonel would sometimes pick a 'honey barrel' from the centre of Warehouse H to enjoy with others. The palate is spicy, with the note of dried cedar rind.
