This is a 2019 limited edition Japanese blended whisky from 若鶴酒造, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The blend brings together malt whisky aged for more than 20 years, sherry cask malt aged for more than 10 years, and grain whisky matured in red wine casks.
The nose combines beeswax, dry peat, charcoal, black grape skin and brown sugar. On the palate, beeswax and black grape skin meet a slightly astringent, syrupy note, with sweet woody flavours alongside the charcoal. Tannins linger in the finish.
