Blue Run Reflection I is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon at 95 proof, in a 75cl bottle. It was contract distilled by Jim Rutledge, Blue Run's Liquid Advisor, at Castle & Key Distillery, using barrels pulled from existing aging stocks.
The nose opens with tart, slightly sweet cherry, butterscotch candies, mild firewood and a hint of pancake batter. The palate moves to pancakes with vanilla butter, maple syrup and a few nuts, then to rosemary. The finish has nutmeg and woody maple syrup, ending on an echo of the tart cherry.
