Castle & Key Restoration Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey, here in its third batch from the 2022 release. The mashbill is 63% rye, 17% yellow corn and 20% malted barley.
It was aged in charred oak barrels and then finished in barrels that previously held wine, which adds a further layer of depth.
On the nose it is caramel, vanilla and toffee. The palate sets the sweetness of the grains against the spice of the rye.
