This is the first release from Borders Distillery in Hawick, in the Scottish Lowlands. It is an 8 year old single malt matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 10,000 bottles filled worldwide.
The whisky is amber, non-chill-filtered and free of added colour. It is unpeated.
The nose combines sultanas with honey and caramel. On the palate, ripe berries meet a light ginger bite, with a soft, full mouthfeel. A spicy oak note runs through the long finish.
