The Borders 8 Year Old is the first release of single malt Scotch whisky from this distillery. The barley comes from ten Scottish farms within 30 miles of the distillery. The whisky was matured for eight years, mainly in first-fill bourbon barrels, then given a final maturation in Madeira casks.
Bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, it is limited to 10,000 bottles.
Tasting notes list caramel, vanilla and honey with orchard fruits, rich sultanas, hazelnut, buttery macadamia, candied peel and gentle oak.
