This is a 10 year old single cask Bowmore from Islay, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It matured in a refill hogshead and yielded 298 bottles, uncoloured and not chill-filtered.
The nose is fresh sea spray and peaty malt, giving way to buttery oat biscuits. The palate has gentle peat smoke with dry grass, damp ash and vanilla oak. The finish is oily and coastal, with hemp rope, charred oak and a honeycomb sweetness.
