A 10 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range and offered here as a 10cl sample. It comes from a single refill hogshead, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at 48.4% ABV, giving 298 bottles.
Douglas Laing bottles the whisky uncoloured and without chill-filtering.
The nose brings sea spray, peaty malt and buttery oat biscuits. The palate has gentle peat smoke, dry grass, damp ash and vanilla oak. The finish is oily and coastal, with hemp rope, charred oak and honeycomb sweetness.
