This is an 11 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2008 by Hart Brothers as part of their Finest Collection. It was matured in a single bourbon cask and bottled at 43% ABV.
Bowmore sits in the centre of Islay and still runs its own floor maltings, which cover 40% of its needs. Mixed with malt from the mainland, this gives a medium peated spirit, with smoke often likened to beach bonfires alongside a saline note, flowers, cereal, citrus and a touch of tropical fruit.
