Bowmore 12 Years is part of the core range from the Bowmore distillery on Islay. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is restrained, with smoke, sherry and dried herbs. The palate is soft, balancing peat smoke against dark berries, white grapes and caramel. The finish brings a little more smoke, together with chocolate, nuts and a touch of leather.
